Headline inflation rate fell to 3.1% in January 2018, recording the same rate as in January 2017 and 0.1% lower than inflation in December 2017. Inflation fell for most commodity groups while increasing for Transport (from 4.1% to 5%), Education (from 4.2% to 5.5%) and Miscellaneous Goods & Services (from 2.8% to 3%). Core inflation (trimmed mean) was 2.8% while the alternative measure of core inflation (excluding administered prices) was 2.2% in January 2018.
