Bank of Botswana has revised the Pula Basket Weights and the Rate of Crawl

The Bank of Botswana has revised the Pula basket weighting of currencies and the rate of crawl in order to keep up with monetary policy developments of major trading partners effective from 1 January 2017. The Pula basket comprises of South Africa's Rand and International Monetary Fund (IMF)'s Special Drawing Rights (SDR). The basket of weights have been revised to 45 percent for the Rand in 2017 from 50 percent in 2016 and the SDR to 55 percent in 2017 from 50 percent in 2016. The rate of crawl have been changed from an upward crawl of 0.38 percent per annum in 2016 to an up 0.26 percent per annum in 2017. The SDR consists of the US Dollar, the Japanese Yen, the Euro, British Pound and the Chinese Renminbi.
