The fomal sector employment survey by Statistics Botswana for March 2016 showed that employment increased by 0.2 percent  from 403,681 persons to 404,387 persons between September 2015 and March 2016. Formal employment growth in Parastatal and Private Organisations grew by 3 percent and 1 percent respectively. However, growth in the two sectors was off-set by the negative 3 percent employment growth in General Government.
