Overall trade balance in June 2016 was a surplus of P2,651.4 million from the revised surplus value of P4,100.6 million in May 2016. Trade was dominated by diamonds in June 2016, contributing more than 100% of imports and 89% of exports. Imports increased by 24% in June 2016 from P4,704.6 million in May 2016 to P5,833.5 million while exports decreased by P319.6 million from P8,804.4 in May 2016 to P8,484.9 million in June 2016 representing a fall of 3.6%. When compared to the same month in 2015, imports decreased by 23.4% from P7,615.8 million in June 2015 to P5,833.5 million in June 2016 while exports increased by 14.3% from P7,424.9 million in June 2015 to P8,484.9 million in June 2016.
